ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - DIVERSITY
FOUNDED IN 1929 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENCOURAGING, STIMULATING, MAINTAINING EXCELLENCE IN SCHOLARSHIP, AND ADVANCING THE SCIENCE OF PSYCHOLOGY.
Psi Chi is the International Psychology Membership Society. Psi Chi is a purely academic honors society, Psi Chi is not a fraternity or sorority.
Psi Chi is an associate of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS). Psi Chi functions as a federation of chapters located at more than 1,150 senior colleges and universities. A national council composed of psychologists who are Psi Chi members and who are elected by the chapters guide the affairs of the organization and sets policy with the approval of chapter officials.
Psi Chi provides members of all races, ethnicities, genders, social and economic classes, and backgrounds with opportunities to make the most of their unique skills and talents. Service, networking, and professional development opportunities are available on campus, locally, regionally, and nationally.
Psi Chi is an expansive network of like-minded peers and experienced psychologists, a springboard for professional and personal growth. When you become a member, many opportunities to develop leadership skills will quickly unfold. You'll be able to network and develop one-on-one relationships with faculty and other psychology professionals, to socialize with other psychology students, to take advantage of numerous educational and career-building programs and events. Additionally, you'll unfold opportunities that allow you to serve your campus and the greater community, and much more.
